A Virtual Tour of Sheraton Bali Kuta ResortWhat's Happening
If you feel like you need a quick getaway to Bali to escape from the urban jungle madness that is Jakarta yet don’t have the time or the money to afford it, there is a much simpler way: simply stop by at Plaza Indonesia in Central Jakarta, where the Sheraton Kuta Bali Resort currently hosts an exhibition to showcase its award-winning facilities, including its Signature Sleep Experience.
With the help of the latest technology in Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, visitors can virtually step into the resort through a 360 degree video, presenting its modern Balinese interior and stunning amenities - they can even enjoy an infinity view of the Indian Ocean which awaits just on the doorstep of Sheraton Kuta Bali Resort.
More recently, the resort has begun to put a stronger emphasis on its wedding options. In collaboration with Balinese wedding planner Varawedding, the exhibition includes a coffee-table book that has been spruced up with the Augmented Reality technology. By gliding the app over the book, visitors get a vivid impression of the available options to tie the knot at the resort - be it at the North Courtyard or the Bene Rooftop overlooking Kuta Beach.
“If a picture tells a thousand words, then virtual reality tells a whole book,” said Dario Orsini, General Manager of Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort. “A virtual tour gives more value by offering guests the transparency on the hotel features. VR enhances the customer’s experience, moving from the traditional 2D images of ‘look before you book’, to fully immersive experiences. The viewers are temporarily transported to ‘real’ moments at the resort. Guests are the center of the story in this case, to provide them the experience to interact with the resort, before even stepping foot there. It has the power to engage and touch human emotions and it is definitely changing how people make travel decisions. We are proud to be among the first few hotels in Indonesia to embark on this technology and to revolutionize the hospitality industry.”
Moreover, Sheraton Kuta Bali Resort, which is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year, is holding an Instagram contest called “Sheraton Snap and Share” during the exhibition period, where participants can win a free holiday at the resort. To join the fun, they simply have to post photos of their favourite Bali memories and explain in the caption why they deserve to win the contest. Participants are required to use the hashtag #SheratonKutainJKT and tag @sheratonkuta.
“For us, our guests are the most important thing and we are always on the lookout for various ways to appreciate our loyal customers,” Kristanti Tannady, Hotel Manager of Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort, explained. “Through this exhibition, we are excited to utilize this leading technology as well as getting the chance to reward our loyal patrons both online and offline through this #SheratonKutainJKT contest and offline promotions.”
The exhibition at Plaza Indonesia runs through August 13.
