In August, Bali is going to be teeming with exciting festivals, carnivals and celebrations. From music to wine to community events, the Island of the Gods is not resting for a minute. Here is a list of what’s happening in August 2016 in Bali:
Ubud Village Jazz Festival: 12 - 13 August 2016
The 4th annual Ubud Village Jazz Festival will once again grace this little cultural village with real, raw music straight from the soul. Known for choosing a world-class line up of incredibly passionate musicians (from legends to ‘new on the scene’) UVJF gets more popular every year.
Held at the traditionally Balinese grounds of ARMA Museum.
Sunny Side Up Tropical Music Festival: 13 -14 August 2016
Despite Bali’s inclement weather due to La Niña, Potato Head Beach Club (together with entertainment group Ismaya Live) are bringing the heat with the annual Sunny Side Up Music Festival. Now two-days long, Disclosure, Mark Ronson, Ta-Ku, Breakbot, Sam Feldt, Geoge Maple, Hermitude and many other international DJ’s will be hitting the stage.

The traditional ‘Lomba 17-an’ (or 17th Races) will be in full force, kerupuk cracker eating, bakiak races and the greasy pole being some examples. All-day bazaars, dance performances, children’s activities and a live performance by Bali-famous Dialog Dini Hari will also be taking place!
The Wine Carnival: 16 August 2016
Wine-lovers, be prepared for a day you may never want to end. Watch as VIN+ Seminyak transforms into an exciting carnival-themed party with wine tastings and delicious creations of their chef.
Complimented by fire dances, capoeira performances, amazing decor and oh, did we mention wine? We did? Well, it needs to be stated twice!
Sanur Village Festival: 24-29 August 2016
One of Bali’s largest community events, the Sanur Village Festivalevent attracted more than 80 thousand spectators last year. With plans to showcase more than 100 performances across the 5-day event, there is little doubt that this year’s program is lining up to be the best ever.
