In early December, wine lovers in Jakarta were in for a treat as Mark Beringer, Chief Winemaker of internationally acclaimed Napa Valley winery Beringer Vineyards, visited the Indonesian capital to host a series of events, including a wine luncheon and soiree.

The main purpose of his visit was to introduce the quality of Beringer wines to a wider audience in Jakarta. Beringer has had more wines on the annual Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list than any other winery and remains one of Napa Valley’s leading wine brands.

Mark Beringer, who is the great-great-grandson of Beringer Vineyards’ founding brother Jacob Beringer, brought with him some of the finest wines, including the 2013 Private Reserve Chardonnay and 2012 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from the Beringer Private Reserve, the 2014 Napa Valley Chardonnay and 2013 Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the Beringer Regional Estates as well as the Beringer Founders’ Estate Merlot and Beringer Founders’ Estate Sauvignon Blanc.

Besides presenting wines with extraordinary quality, Mark Beringer’s visit to Indonesia was also meant to celebrate the winery’s campaign with travel site TripAdvisor, which was successfully launched last year and aims to make planning upcoming trips more enjoyable – preferably over a glass of fine wine.
