Sumpah Pemuda (The Youth Pledge) affirms the dreams and roles of the Indonesian young generation for its powerful archipelago. Reflecting this spirit, Komunitas Inspirasi Jelajah Pulau as one of the social movements, which are concerned about the basic education of children in Indonesian islands retraces their footsteps since 2014 through a photo and video exhibition titled "Kami Poetra and Poetri Indonesia".

Working closely with Galeri Indonesia Kaya, Komunitas Inspirasi Jelajah Pulau invites the general public of Indonesia to appreciate the work of the photo/videographer volunteers of this community. Indeed, these photos and videos are a reminder of our responsibilities to keep carrying on the spirit of the Youth Pledge. In this exhibition, the two curators, Rosa Panggabean and Putra Djohan, have created a series of interesting stories portraying not only the efforts of the teaching volunteers while delivering the programs in various islands, but also how the children and island community responded to these programs. The Photo and Video Exhibition of Komunitas Inspirasi Jelajah Pulau is not only a celebration. It is one of the fundraising initiatives for the next event of this community, which is Camp Anak Pulau. This camp is designed to bring 17 extraordinary elementary students as well as the guardian teachers from their respective islands, to conduct a 3-days-study tour in Jakarta.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 23 October 2016 from 3-4pm which includes musical performances from Orchest Stamboel and the community mini choir as well as a talk show with the curators and curated photo/videographers.
