In celebration of the Week of Francophonie 2019 The French Cultural Institute Jakarta proudly presents a theatrical performance on the emphasis on caring for the water environment by Adama Adepoju entitled Conteur d’Eau. Adama Adepoju is an African figurehead who has a keen interest on the aesthetics of African fairy tales. He is dedicated to life on the stage to perform realistic fiction from his own life experience in the heart of West Africa.
Conteur d’Eau is the result of the artistic project of the company named Naforo Ba by Taxi Storyteller. Conteur d’Eau which means Water Storyteller is inspired by the collection of life stories, myths, legends and tales from the traditional oral aquatic narratives collected and performed in 21 towns and villages of Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Cape Verde, Guinea, Liberia, Niger and Sierra Leone. The story tells about an ecological crisis of the world and how to respect the source of life.
