Fairmont Jakarta will host a series of events from 24 to 27 August to introduce the exciting British cuisine and lifestyle to Jakartans.
Under the title of “When Jakarta Meets London - Bringing The Heritage of the Savoy to the City”, the events will showcase the expertise of guest chefs and mixologist who will be flown in from London to Jakarta.
The Savoy, a Fairmont-managed five star hotel, ranks among the most popular landmarks in London and includes Gordon Ramsay’s Savoy Grill, the award-winning Beaufort Bar and the legendary American Bar.
“When Jakarta Meets London” will feature five key events, namely afternoon tea in the Peacock Lounge, a party in K22 Bar, a bar takeover of Barong Bar, a gastronomic experience at VIEW Restaurant & Bar as well as Sunday brunch in Spectrum.
Afternoon Tea in the Peacock Lounge will kick off the event where guests will have a chance to savor the world-famous Thames Foyer recipes that will be prepared by Pastry Chef Luc Bigeard from The Savoy. This British Afternoon Tea is available from 24 August to 6 September from 1 to 5 PM and is priced at IDR 588,000++ per set. A special chefs-parade to launch this afternoon tea will be held on 24 August at 3 PM.
On Thursday night, a James Bond-themed party at K22 Bar includes a search of the best-dressed Bond Girl who will win a grand prize from The Savoy, London. Besides being entertained by a live singer as well as a DJ, guests can enjoy free-flow cocktails specially crafted by The Savoy’s award-winning mixologist, Witek Wojaczek. The Bond Girl Night will be held on 24 August starting from 7 PM and is priced at IDR 288,000++ per person.
On 25 August, Witek Wojaczek will take over the Barong Bar and present the Savoy’s classic cocktails like Hanky Panky and Moonwalk as well as Beaufort Bar’s signature cocktail stories. While enjoying the free-flow cocktails, guests will be pampered with a jazz music performance and the excitement on having cigar rollers. One lucky winner of the night will get the prize of a weekend ride in a Jaguar including the chauffer. Free-flow cocktails is available from 8 to 11 PM and costs IDR 788,000++ per person.
An exquisite British gourmet dinner featuring The Savoy’s Executive Sous Chef, Francisco Hernandez will be held on26 and 27 August at VIEW Restaurant & Bar. Francisco will collaborate with VIEW’s Chef de Cuisine, Hans Christian who will serve the five-course wine pairing dinner, which will also be attended by the British Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Moazzam Malin on 26 August. This special dinner is available for IDR 1,788,000++ per person.
On 27 August, Spectrum will become the place for Royal Sunday Brunch. Fairmont Jakarta’s culinary team led by Executive Chef, Edi Pancamala will collaborate with Chef Francisco and Chef Luc in preparing an extensive buffet brunch. The menu will include mouth-watering dishes such as Hot Smoked Trout with Horseradish, Poached Scottish Lobster, “The Savoy” Prawn and Brown Shrimp Cocktail, Roasted Beef or Lamb with Traditional Yorkshire Pudding, various selections of Fish and Chips, and Buttermilk Pancakes. It will also include the Arnold Bennett Omelette, which was first created at the Savoy Hotel in the 1920s. The Royal Sunday Brunch is available for IDR 788,000++ per person.
