Phil remains the most decorated English footballer having won 23 Medals including four European winners’ medals. Three days of events branded, Phil Neal-My Generation, included fun games with a couple of football clubs in Jakarta, a brunch table walk-about at Lyon at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, a car- free day fun walk with the Liverpool FC Big Reds supporters, coaching clinics with under-privileged children from 5 institutions and  a fundraising meet-and-greet at the Hard Rock Cafe, Pacific Place.

Over the past 10 years, BritCham has provided sports-related personal development opportunities for more than 5,000 children.

Phil Neal was accompanied by his wife, Sue. “I am here in Jakarta for the second time and delighted to support BritCham’s community efforts. The Indonesian people are always so welcoming and friendly. The kids appreciate the effort made to help them,” he said.

England’s victory over Panama was particularly serendipitous.  “I’m very proud” he told NOW! Jakarta. “I can never predict these things. England will have their chests out tonight. It has been a great game and it’s great to see the youngsters, players like [Harry] Maguire come out of his shell.” he said at half time during the event.

After the long weekend, Phil and Sue stayed on in Indonesia and celebrated their 47th anniversary in the country.
