Memories For A Lifetime

Offering a perfect marriage of natural beauty and passion for service, panoramic beaches and a touch of luxury, the five-star Meliá Bali in Nusa Dua promises an exotic getaway in a secluded environment.

Memories For A Lifetime

The Spain-based international hotel chain and resorts Meliá Hotels International first opened Meliá Bali, formerly known as Bali Sol, in December 1985 – its very first hotel established outside of Spain. Sitting on 26 acres of green tropical land, the property is deeply infused with thick Balinese accents at every corner. Upon entering the lobby, guests are greeted by the enchanting sound of traditional Balinese gamelan and the sight of graceful Balinese dancers. Murals depicting the traditional Balinese life philosophy Tri Hita Karana – literally translated as the three causes of well being: harmony among people, nature and God – greet guests from the sky-high ceiling at the lobby.

The idyllic sanctuary features 494 stylish rooms that include 123 Meliá Guestrooms, 178 Premium Garden View, 75 Family Rooms, 56 Premium Lagoon Access Rooms, 7 The Level Lagoon Access Room, 35 The Level Junior Suites, 9 The Level Romance Suites, 1 Executive Suite and 10 Garden Villas.

As you’ll find out, each choice comes with unique benefits. Staying at the Lagoon Rooms, for example, grants you access to the Lagoon swimming pool right out of your porch. Meanwhile, at The Level, guests are entitled to an exclusive breakfast area, in-room espresso machine, two pieces of laundry per guest each day, access to the exclusive villa pool and beach, free cocktail at The Level Lounge from 5 PM to 10 PM as well as access to The Level Lounge, which opens daily from 7 AM to 11 PM.

Since it’s Bali, no visit would be justified without beach-related activities. At Meliá Bali, guests are encouraged to enjoy the sun and sand or go for a swim and engage in water sports at the hotel’s private beach area. Other sports facilities are readily accessible: tennis, futsal (indoor football), badminton and table tennis. An Entertainment Manager is available to provide information on daily games and fun activities – from fruit carving, Balinese dance lessons, cooking demonstrations and many more.

Over at Yhi Spa, well-trained therapists are ready to pamper guests with rejuvenating treatments designed to help weary (or just about any) travelers relax and achieve peace of mind. Full-body massage, facial massage and foot therapy are just some of the therapeutic experiences Meliá Bali proudly offers alongside the comforting scents of frangipani and lemongrass (with an added touch of fresh ginger lemon tea!). Its new Fish Therapy, in which a school of Garra rufa fish softly remove any dead skin and stimulate your epidermis, promises to be tickly but a lot of fun!

Delightful local and international cuisines are served at several restaurants throughout the resort: the Lotus Asian Garden Restaurant, Sakura Japanese Restaurant, Sorrento Mediterranean Restaurant and Sateria Beachside Restaurant. Refreshing cocktails and snacks are available at Lobby Bar & Lounge and Tapas Bar. Coffee enthusiasts shouldn’t miss out on the excellent selection of freshly roasted coffee at the 24-hour El Patio Coffee Shop.

“We may be 30 years old, but we’re always consistently updating our infrastructure. We want our guests to go home with memories, because memories stay with you for the rest of your life,” said Meliá Bali General Manager Eduardo Perera Castro.

Topping off its long list of accomplishments is world-class recognition for the hotel’s sustainable social and environmental programmes, evident through the EarthCheck Platinum Certificate it received in 2002. Meliá Bali was the first resort in Southeast Asia and remains one of only 14 hotels in the world to have won the prestigious award.
