The annual golf tournament for Priscilla Hall Memorial Foundation was held again this year in support of the mission of the foundation: “To provide direct and on-going assistance to Indonesian children in need, with a focus on meeting their basic nutritional, shelter and educational requirements”.

Hosted by Mr. Stewart Hall, the founder and chairman of the foundation and his golf committee, the event, held at Cengkareng Golf Club on 8 December, was attended by a selected 100 keen golfers (and extremely generous donors!) including senior business executives from various industries. The majority of the golfers came from Jakarta, others were from Bali, Singapore, Hong Kong and even all the way from Scotland! This event has definitely become increasingly popular, year-by-year, and has been considered one of the most anticipated events in Jakarta’s golfing calendar.

Most participants, including Martin Cole, President Director of Crown Worldwide, as the Lead Sponsor for a number of years, commented that they are really pleased with this professionally organised event, with lots of surprises and fun, and even more so with the entire proceeds of the event being used to help a lot of children in need.

Using Four Man Team Texas Scramble format, the event required solid teamwork and all teams were in good spirit to deliver their best performance.

The highlight of the evening was the Charity Auction, with 24 items on the live bid going under the hammer. The various items included some fantastic hotels & villas in Bali, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, India, Thailand, Autographed Rugby items, Golf and some interesting paintings.

All in all, the entire whole programme was another big success. This year the tournament raised a total of Rp. 592,263,000 from sponsorships, ticket entries, auction – and, mainly, donation.

All proceeds from this year’s event will be going to selected charity projects, which have been chosen by the Committee.

Everyone had a great time, and felt even better knowing that they have played a fun golf day, and at the same time supported such good causes and made a different to the young Indonesian children’s lives and underprivileged member of societies.
