Pack your golf clubs because it’s time to tee up at the Indonesia Ultimate Golf Series 2016-2017 which will take place in Jakarta and Bali between November and May. Over 120 Indonesian and foreign amateur golfers are welcome to sign up for the competition whose ultimate grand prize is a trip for two to the legendary British Open Golf Championship in 2017.
The competition consists of four qualifying rounds held at Jakarta’s Emeralda Golf Club (November), Bali’s Nirwana Golf Club (December), Jakarta’s Sentul Highland Golf Club (February) and Bali’s Kuta Golf Club (April). The venue for the final round in May will be announced shortly.
“We would like to introduce the scenic golf courses in Indonesia to foreigners as well, which will not only encourage them to play golf but will also raise their interest to come here and enjoy our other tourist destinations – and this, in the end, will help our country,” Cahaya Oktora, co-founder of event organiser Bespoke Indonesia said at the press conference in October at El Asador Restaurant. The tournament is a collaborative effort presented by Bespoke Indonesia, Golf Bali, Wonderful Indonesia tourism board, mobile phone operator XL Prioritas, and more.
