DIAGEO Indonesia introduces the iconic Johnnie Walker Blue Label to scotch whisky enthusiasts of the capital  through a series of exclusive Tasting Experience events held at Park Hyatt Jakarta from 3 – 4 November 2023. Setting Indonesia to embark on a whisky journey with a scotch blend that encapsulates Scotland’s rich whisky heritage and craftsmanship. Highlighting the launching party was the presence of Ewan Gunn, Senior Global Scotch Whisky Ambassador at Diageo, whose 24 years of expertise in the Scotch industry added a touch of mastery to the occasion, elevating the event to a whole new level. 

In the world of Scotch whisky, Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a name synonymous with luxury, refinement, and unparalleled taste. It represents a fusion of the finest flavours from the ‘four corners of Scotland,’ each distillery contributing a unique essence to create a whisky unlike any other.

In this Tasting Experience event, introductions of the whisky from the four corners of Scotland was made; Glenkinchie 12 Years Old from Lowland delights with light floral notes, while Cardhu 12 Years Old from Speyside offers a rich, spicy, and nutty flavour. Singleton Glen Ord 18 Years Old from Highlands provides a warm taste with hints of spices, and Caol Ila 12 Years Old from Islay brings a strong and smoky flavour sensation. When these distilleries collaborate, they meticulously blend their spirits, creating a rare and unparalleled whisky flavour profile that defines every bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

The production process is meticulous and time-honoured, with master blenders focusing on harmonising various Scotch whisky styles. Age statements take a back seat to a more profound commitment—prioritising the exquisite flavour and unwavering quality that goes into each bottle. Only one out of every ten thousand casks is deemed to possess the unimaginable quality and flavour character that ensures Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s exceptional and original taste.

Ewan Gunn described it as a creation where time and the expertise of Master Blenders intertwine to craft a luxury Scotch Whisky with a unique and rich texture. The Blue Label Tasting Experience left a lasting impression on visitors, with Melvern Nathaniel, Bartender World Class Winner, sharing his passion for Blue Label as a loyal companion in his journey to uncover the secrets of Scotch whisky.  Following the Tasting Experience, Johnnie Walker Blue Label will continue to provide a luxurious and unique experience to consumers in Indonesia through the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Pop Up Boutique at Plaza Senayan, from November 15th to December 10th, 2023. The whisky is available for consumers aged 21 and above, and it is strongly advised to consume it responsibly and refrain from driving while consuming alcoholic beverages.
