Semarang, the capital of Central Java will soon welcome a new beachfront destination constructed by PT. AWANN MUTIARA JAWA. Working under the umbrella of AWANNGROUP Hotel & Property Management , this construction company develops a lifestyle complex that will be the first seaside attraction in the region called AWANNCOSTA, collaborating with well-known national brands such as BCA, Polytron, Mayora and Sido Muncul.
The development is found within ‘Pearl of Java’ (POJ City), an independent city residential area spanning 300 hectares of the northern Semarang region, developed by PT. Indo Permata Usahatama (PT.IPU). It will be a hub of commercial areas, education centres, hotels, apartments, resorts, tourism spots, a park, and nine distinct housing clusters.
Sprawling along POJ City’s coastal area will be AWANNCOSTA, occupying 1.7-hectares of prime beachfront land, developed in line with with the Indonesian government’s Culture and Tourism program, offering abundant opportunities for businesses and investors in Semarang. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on August 18, 2023, and the much-anticipated Soft Opening is scheduled for early 2024.
The immersive destination will feature an amphitheatre, envisioned as a venue for music, cultural events, arts, and local activities on a national scale. Additionally, it will boast the largest and most comprehensive playground in Central Java, 1000sqm in area, along with an array of food & beverage tenants. Demonstrating its commitment to supporting young athletes, PT. AWANN MUTIARA JAWA has joined forces with the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) to develop a water sports facility that will cater to sports like diving, swimming, layering, and triathlon, gearing up for the 2026 Provincial Sports Week.
Albert Dwijaya, the Main Director of PT. AWANN MUTIARA JAWA, emphasised, “AWANNCOSTA will be the first sportainment in Semarang City that will help advance eco-sports tourism in the Pearl Of Java (POJ City) beach area.” By collaborating with KONI, the project aims to provide a platform for young athletes, fostering their development with state-of-the-art facilities.
Albert Dwijaya also highlighted the positive impact on Semarang’s economy, expressing optimism that the development will be welcomed by the government, investors, and business people. “We hope that other national brands will look at Central Java, to make Semarang the city of choice with promising investment prospects in the tourism and culinary sectors.
