In a significant move for the Indonesian hospitality and arts sectors, the Artotel Group has entered into an official partnership with PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda/Jakpro) to manage Wisma Seni, situated in the iconic arts district of Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM). This collaboration was formalised with a memorandum of understanding signed by Jakpro’s President Director, Mr. Iwan Takwin, and Artotel Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego on 22 May 2024.
Wisma Seni will feature 139 rooms, ranging from 28 m² to 52 m², meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a communal area, and a restaurant. Its location in Taman Ismail Marzuki provides guests with a one-stop destination experience, with nearby attractions like the Jakarta Planetarium and the Jakarta Library, known for their modern and aesthetic architecture.
Artotel Group is renowned for its contemporary lifestyle and art-focused hotel concepts. With an impressive portfolio of art-centric hotels in Jakarta, including ARTOTEL Thamrin Jakarta, ARTOTEL Casa Kuningan, Mangkuluhur ARTOTEL Suites, and the newly launched ARTOTEL Gelora Senayan in GBK Senayan, makes Artotel Group a very ideal partner to support Jakpro’s vision of transforming Taman Ismail Marzuki into an international arts and culture hub while maintaining Indonesian artistic and cultural diversity.
Expressing his gratitude, Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego, Chief Operating Officer of Artotel Group, said, “We are very grateful for the trust given by Jakpro to manage accommodation specifically intended for Indonesian artists. This opportunity strengthens our vision and mission to always support and collaborate with Indonesian artists, by providing space for them to create and showcase their works to the public through the art spaces available at each ARTOTEL brand hotel, as well as providing comfortable accommodation. By managing art with international standards, we will further enhance the quality of TIM as an iconic international standard arts and culture ecosystem centre in Jakarta.”
Pangkerego added that Wisma Seni would also welcome general guests for both business and leisure, contributing to Jakarta’s economy and tourism. The facility is scheduled to begin operations in the third quarter of 2024.
Iwan Takwin of Jakpro emphasised that the collaboration aims to support arts and cultural activities in Taman Ismail Marzuki. “Through this partnership, Wisma Seni TIM will operate with standardised, professional management, furthering its role in the cultural ecosystem of Jakarta,” he said.
