International Ballet Star Gala: A Celebration of Ballet and Contemporary Dance

Following a series of successful programmes such as Dance Prix Indonesia, Miko Fogarty’s Ballet Tour and Comdance Indonesia Competition, Indonesia Dance Society (IDS) returns with a groundbreaking and exhilarating ballet programme, the International Ballet Star Gala.

Scheduled for 4 February 2017 at 7:30 pm in Teater Jakarta, Taman Ismail Marzuki, this gala performance features ten internationally acclaimed principal dancers, including Daniil Simkin, Ulrik Birkkjaer and Ida Praetorius from the American Ballet Theatre, Sofia Gumerova and Igor Kolb from the Royal Danish Ballet, Carlos Quenedit and Lorena Feijoo from the Mariinsky Ballet, Hye Min Hwang and Jae Yong Ohm from the San Fransisco Ballet and principal dancers from the Universal Ballet.

This spectacular two-hour show will present performance highlights from the contemporary dance scene and classical ballet repertoires such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Carmen, Giselle as well as other neoclassical and contemporary routines.

The event program also includes a meet and greet, a ballet workshop and the  gala performance from the principal dancers.
