Christkindl-Markt: German Christmas Market 2024
Enjoy a traditional Christmas Market experience in Jakarta with Christkindl-Market, organised by Die Brücke Jakarta, the German-speaking foundation and community. This longstanding tradition began back in December, 1988, and has for many decades now brought the wholesome German Christmas experience into the city.
This year’s event will take place at Hotel Borobudur Jakarta, where a special scene will unfold featuring German, Austrian and Swiss specialties, such as homemade cakes, German food, mulled wine, cookies and confectionery from Germany. All the favourite goodies of a traditional Christmas market! In addition, there will also be around 90 vendors selling a variety of Christmas decorations, handicrafts and gift goodies. Adding to the seasonal cheer, the Hotel Borobudur Jakarta’s Christmas Tree lighting will take place at the lobby on the same day. Popular activities like the traditional ‘tombola’ or lucky draw will take place, as well as children’s activities and a chance to take photos with Sankt Nicolaus.
The market opens at 1pm, with an entrance fee of IDR 50,000 per person (children under 12 years old free to enter). The entrance fees are used to support the Die Brüche social projects and initiatives.
