This year, the city of Palembang celebrates its 1336th birthday. To honor this annual celebration, various events will be held across the city by the local government. Bidar Prestasi Competition
This boat race on the Musi River has been around since colonial times. Sriwijaya Festival

Palembang Expo
Attended by local and national government institutions and various companies with branches in Palembang, Palembang Expo will be held from 22 to 24 June to introduce the community and tourists to those who have contributed to the rapid development in Palembang, particularly those within the economic field.
Fashion Festival
With the theme "From Time to Time", this year’s Fashion Festival will be held at the court of Kuto Besak Fortress featuring a variety of traditional Palembang clothes. Various shows will take place from 22 to 23 June.
Palembang Nian Art Festival
This inspiring art festival will be one of the closing events for Palembang’s 1336th birthday celebration. Located at the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Museum, the festival will showcase all sorts of installations and exhibits related to Palembang's art and culture, spectacularly displayed on a magnificent stage.
