Art Moments Jakarta Launches Its Second Online Exhibition

Art Moments Jakarta returns boldly until 21 December 2021 at and at three art galleries in the capital which hope to repeat the success of the first online volume held last June.

Its first online exhibition, Art Moments Jakarta managed to attract 65 galleries with a large visitor count of nearly 50,000 coming from Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, Switzerland, Italy, China, and many more.

This time, brings the theme “Yesterday since Tomorrow is Today”, Art Moments Jakarta Online 2 (AMJO2) has scheduled a series of interesting events include hosts NFT Art Prized Moments using the eco-friendly Tezos blockchain. This activity is the first national-scale NFT art competition in Indonesia with a cash prize of IDR 30,000,000 supported by a competent jury, namely Khai Hori, Prasajadi and Detty Wulandari.

AMJO2 also collaborates with the Jakarta Biennale in a fundraising event that will showcase the works of the participants of the UOB Painting of the Year Indonesia 2021 offline and online. On this occasion, visitors can purchase the artworks and the proceeds will be donated to the Jakarta Biennale Foundation which is managed by the Jakarta Arts Council.

Besides online exhibitions, AMJO2 has also organized various offline events, entitled “Encounter Moments” held in three well-known galleries in Jakarta, these are:

Art: 1 New Museum (19-21 November)
Collaborated with MISSAO Corporation, an arts and culture business consultant from Tokyo, AMJO2 created a joint program on the intricacies of art handling services, from storage, care, shipping, to proper packaging of valuable artworks. Artwork from UOB Painting of the Year Indonesia 2021 displayed along with more than 100 artworks at this gallery.

CAN’S Gallery (3-5 December)
Features more than 30 artworks from Indonesian artists, namely I Nyoman Masriadi, Bunga Jeruk, Muklav, Arkiv Vilmansa and also UOB Painting of the Year Indonesia 2021.

ISA Art & Design Gallery (10-12 December)
An art event located at Wisma 46, BNI City on Jl. Jendral Sudirman featuring artworks by Alexander Sebastianus and Mira Hoeng as well as art-prints by Mira Hoeng and Chang Jui Pin. On this occasion, the winners of the NFT Art Prized Moments, which were launched on 30 October 2021, are also be announced, and the 10 best works are displayed at this gallery.

Another offline event, Art Moments Jakarta in collaboration with Galeri Zen1 and D Gallerie held a joint tribute event for contemporary Balinese artist, I Made Wianta. This exhibition at D Gallerie only displays special works from the late I Made Wianta which have never been physically exhibited with the title: “The Hidden Wild Triangle”.

Meanwhile, AMJO2 also holds a virtual exhibition titled Collectors Curated Moments initiated by a number of young art collectors starting on 23 November. The event aims to strengthen the relationship between galleries, collectors, and artists. Some of the galleries that are part of this program are Artsphere (Jakarta), ISA Art and Design (Jakarta), Museum of Toys (Jakarta), and Zen 1 Gallery (Denpasar).

“Our mission is to bring back Art Moments Jakarta even in the midst of a pandemic. The AMJO1 show last June was a success and now we are here again by adding a number of offline events and NFT Art Prized Moments to support digital artists" said Leo Silitonga, Fair Director of Art Moments Jakarta Online. Leo added that the presence of this exhibition is expected to be able to popularise works of art in Indonesia and at the same time support the progress of Indonesian artists abroad.

AMJO2 has received full support from the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. "We really appreciate all the efforts made by Art Moments Jakarta and the artists involved so that this activity can be carried out by following the recommendations of strict health protocols. The second session of Art Moments Jakarta Online also serves as a virtual platform that aims to promote Indonesian art and culture" said Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of The Republic of Indonesia.
