The Italian cultural centre, Istituto Italiano di Cultura, is an official Italian institution dedicated to preserving and promoting interests and knowledge of Italian heritage with various cultural programmes.
The institution was established in 2000 and has since played a leading role in fostering the diplomatic relationships through culture between Indonesia and Italy. The key actor in the promotion and preservation of Italy’s knowledge and cultural heritage is cooperation between universities, academies and other organisations in the two countries, thus harmonizing both diplomatic ties.
Hand-in-hand with the Embassy of Italy for Indonesia, Istituto Italiano di Cultura is committed to providing international cultural and educational exchange through a collection of services to Indonesian society, such as an Italian language course with native Italian teachers.
Moreover, students of Italian language courses and other members of the institution are entitled to consultation on Italian language and culture, literature, digital sources in CD and DVD format, Italian magazine and newspapers and other documentation about all aspects of Italian cultural and social life.
A range of fields including arts, culture, education, architecture, sustainability, food, science, fashion and design have been made through lectures, workshops, exhibitions, master class, theatrical performances, symposia and concerts at the cultural institution and other venues throughout Indonesia.
