The next edition of Henshin’s ‘Behind The Bar Series: Sydney to Jakarta’ will drop on 30 August 2024, guest-starring Assistant Venue Manager Giorgio Gervasoni of the award-winning cocktail bar, Maybe Sammy. Giorgio is set to shake up trademark cocktails from this renowned Sydney hotspot, which earned the title of ‘The Best Bar in Australasia 2023’ from The World’s 50 Best Bars.
Bubble guns, experiential service and full team dance routines all are part of the fun at Maybe Sammy, delivering a high-end (and extravagant) Hollywood or Vegas-style experience in a glamorous hotel-themed bar. Think Greatest Showman played out in the Grand Budapest!
Channeling this very energy ‘behind the bar’ is Maybe Sammy’s Assistant Venue Manager, Giorgio Gervasoni. This hospitality professional has worked his way up and through F&B, starting in the coffee industry in his Italian hometown, before swapping coffee for cocktails at Sammy Jr., one of Australia’s top Italian restaurants in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. His next ‘evolution’ was graduating to full-time Bar Manager for Maybe Sammy, the sister bar, where Giorgio has been central in building the brand and quality. Maybe Sammy was ranked #15 in the World’s 50 Best Bars 2023, landing them the banner of The Best Bar in Australasia 2023 as a result.
On 30 August 2024, Henshin Jakarta looks forward to hosting this highly-achieved barman, who will bring Maybe Sammy’s flair and flavour from ‘Sydney to Jakarta’. Guests are invited to savour Giorgio’s signature cocktail creations, whilst enjoying the rooftop views across the city.
Priced at IDR 175,000++ each, the four characteristic cocktails that Giorgio will showcase at Henshin come from The Grand Maybe Sammy Hotel menu. These comprise of Sauna Room, made from Malfy Gin Originale, Ginger, Calamansi and Peach; Check-In with Malfy Gin Originale, Rose Vermouth, Fig and Hibiscus; 5 Star Margarita with Olmeca Altos Plata, Coffee Liqueur, Passion Fruit and Lime; and Aroma Therapy with Jameson Black Barrel, Dry Vermouth, Sweet Bitter Liqueur, Cacao, Almond Milk, Green Tea and Salty Pear.
