Yves Mudry, Raffles Jakarta
With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Yves has an outstanding track record both in operations and general management, having operated various properties across Asia, as well as spearheading projects from construction to handover.
Yves studied hospitality at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne and also earned a Master of Business Administration in International Hospitality from the Glion Institute of Higher Education in Montreux, Switzerland. He has accrued over 20 years of hospitality experience in Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, 13 of which were as General Manager. He is not unfamiliar with Indonesia as he has worked in Bali before. His most recent position was General Manager at the SO Sofitel Bangkok, a luxury urban design hotel in Thailand.
A Swiss national, Yves is fluent in English, French and German, understands Thai and even speaks some Bahasa Indonesia. Besides his passion for the hospitality industry, he is also interested in culture and arts. During his free time, Yves enjoys jogging and teeing off at the golf course.
On his new role, Yves comments, “I am excited and privileged to have the opportunity of returning to Indonesia to helm the Raffles Jakarta, a beacon above the city and the capital’s center of luxury. Together with my team, I look forward to carrying on the legendary service Raffles is known for, and to create an oasis for the well-travelled guests.”
Andrew Abram, Mandarin Oriental Jakarta
Andrew Abram, who replaces Maximilian von Reden as General Manager is no stranger to Jakarta, having first been appointed General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta in 2004. During his first tenure, Andrew oversaw the closure and full renovation of the property as well as its successful re-launch in October 2009. He subsequently moved to take over management of Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, Chiang Mai in 2012 and brings with him over thirty years of experience in the hospitality industry, having begun his career in 1989 in London.
Andrew’s previous appointments include Resident Manager of The Excelsior, Hong Kong as well as General Manager of the Niccolo Hotel in Chengdu, China and Managing Director of Soneva Kiri in Thailand.
In Jakarta, he will be responsible for the hotel’s operations and ensuring that the team continue to deliver the legendary service for which Mandarin Oriental is renowned.
