Having reached their Golden Anniversary, Hotel Aryaduta Menteng sought to give back during this milestone moment, collaborating with Penjaga Laut Community from Econusa and taking part in significant environmental conservation programmes.

First opened as Hotel Aryaduta Jakarta back in 12 June 1974, the historic hotel has been a mainstay in the Menteng area for five decades. In that time it has taken on several names, including Hotel Hyatt Aryaduta, and eventually becoming Hotel Aryaduta Menteng in 1997, under the Lippo Group.

Rather than throwing a birthday bash to celebrate this half century milestone, the hotel and its staff instead spent a day at Tanjung Pasir Beach, in Tangerang, working on several environmental initiatives in the area. From a mass beach clean up to mangrove tree planting, the day was spent committed to community action and giving back.

From the activities, they collected around 3,355 kilograms of Styrofoam, 9.10 kilograms of textiles, 23.8 kilograms of plastic, glass and other trash. The total waste cleaned in this movement was 36,765 kilograms. This movement not only involved the hotel’s employees but also invited volunteers from local community, KOL, media crew, and the community around the beach to jointly plant 1000 trees purchased from the residents.

“We believe that this effort not only provides physical protection for the beach but also creates an investment in a healthy environment for local residents and future generations, our children and grandchildren.” explained Fajar Sukarno, General Manager Hotel Aryaduta Menteng.
