Club Med Bali has the perfect family programmes for you. Photos coutesy of Club Med/NOWJAKARTA

Thanks to the new Amazing Family programme, the Club Med spirit is further extended to every member of the family.

I felt the spirit of Club Med starting from the front gate of the property, where I was given a pink ribbon bracelet. I later found out each colour indicates each guests’ nationality to make it easier for GOs to engage them in their own language.

As our group alighted by the main lobby, rows of GOs threw a heartfelt signature Club Med welcome which I was thrilled to experience again—I knew this was going to be a magnificent stay. We were nicely briefed on what not to miss by Merlin, Club Med Bali’s own CDV (equivalent of General Manager) as the other GOs handed out welcome drinks, cold towels and politely screened our body temperatures. I instantly felt at ease knowing that every guest’s health is the hotel’s top priority.

Following a scrumptious lunch buffet, I enjoyed a comprehensive hotel tour and got to see what’s inside one of Nusa Dua’s biggest hotels in property size accompanied by Lia, a senior GO, who walked me through the expansive property grounds, stopping here and there to look at (and try) the numerous activities available.

Safely secured with an armguard and following instructions, we played Legolas at the archery range. We stopped by at the mini golf course with six holes of rolling fairways and greens.

I had to demonstrate my rusty chipping and putting skills before the group moved on. The spa area had a semi-indoor pool and various relaxation rooms, all clad in interiors rich in Balinese culture. Definitely the right place to visit if you’re in the mood for rejuvenation. We walked then to a beachside hut where a GO was in charge of organising aquatic activities—from scuba diving to snorkelling and everything in between.

We made our way back through a picturesque open-air wooden hallway built over a large pond. It was rather drizzly and walking along the decked hallway accompanied by the smell of wet grass and earth touched my pluviouphilic side. I couldn’t help but stop and stare into nothingness on more than several instances. Luckily, so did the rest of the group.

Back at the main bar—which was the centre stage of activities as far as I’m concerned—I was treated to a smorgasbord of fresh fruits and light bites. Beer in hand, I tried a few while watching the many activities happening around me. Live music was in full swing as one musical GO took to the stage. Families lounge around in the adjacent semi-outdoor theatre with fresh drinks and mocktails while the young ones indulged in various games. Some were watching the circus crew rehearsing their trapeze act for the evening’s special performance. Everyone took their time taking pictures or hanging out with the super friendly and helpful GOs.

I’ve mentioned GOs a few times now and you may wonder who these are. GOs are the lifeline of Club Med. They are the front and foremost advocates of the Club Med spirit. They normally have assignments around the hotel, such as staffing the kids’ club to activities organisers, but their main objective is to ensure every guest receives personal attention in terms of safety, security and delightful interaction. If you’re a GO then you’re near super human in both physical and mental prowess. Not only handling day jobs around the property, involving direct interaction with guests, the GOs put on shows followed by a dance party, Club Med style, every single evening. And, let me tell you, these shows are at professional level and fully entertaining!

Amazing Family

Families make up a large portion of Club Med’s guests. It is, in fact, “part of the Club Med brand identity and at the very heart of Club Med”, so state Marie-Ange Georgin-Selman, Marketing and Omnichannel Sales Director South East Asia.

As part of this dedication to families, the Amazing Family programmes offers detailed elements dedicated to families, such as the Time to Move value, which offers energising sports and games for active families, such as soccer bumper game, kite competition, slip-and-slide water games, sand castle competitions and other outdoor activities.

Time to Play encourages the family to disconnect from digital devices and bond over games like Giant Jenga, Twister and other life-size board games, while Time to Care allows you to participate in activities that teaches kids about going green and the local Balinese culture through arts & craft classes using recycled materials and cooking classes.

Time to Quest invites players to discover the vast features of the resort filled with exciting local heritage through an exciting digital treasure hunt using Club Med Play mobile application. When it’s time to party, celebrate as a family following programmes in Time to Celebrate, where everyone can be kids again as you enjoy colour parties, bubble parties, inflatable castle games and family snack times.

All this and more to pay tribute to the most important people in life—our family. Guided and assisted by amazing GOs and the hotel’s all-inclusive amenities, everyone visiting Club Med Bali—or any Club Med establishment around the world—is guaranteed to bring home a fun, adventurous and delightfully memorable experience.
