It's Negroni Time at InterContinental!

Having turned 100 years old two years ago from its first  concoction in a bar in Florence, Italy, in 1919 by Count Camilo Negroni, the deliciously bitter Negroni is the perfect elixir for our recent curious times. A variation on another classic cocktail, the Americano, the Negroni is the preferred tipple for sophisticated society. Last year, Oscar nominee and cocktail connoisseur Stanley Tucci went viral for showing off his Negroni-making skill on an Instagram video.

Collaborating with Campari, The Bar Society of InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah is dedicating September to pay homage to this deliciously bitter classic cocktail. From Tuesday, 13 September until 30 September 2021, The Lounge at InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah is offering as many as four extraordinary variations of the Negroni cocktail for you to indulge in which include Kyuri Negroni (IDR 188K++), Yin Yang Negroni (IDR 148K++), The Godfather Negroni (IDR 148K++), and Classic Negroni (IDR 168K++).

This Negroni haven starts from 5 PM–9 PM and will be accompanied by delicious Cicchetti (Italian tapas) offered at IDR 178K++ per package of four items specially made to enhance your Negroni drinking experience. Some of the Cicchetti on offer are Foie Gras and Coffee Puff with Candied Orange; Bulldog Gin Cured Norwegian Salmon with Campari and Orange Gel; The Godfather Negroni Sorbet and Sautéed Prawn; and Flamed Goat’s Cheese with Crisp
Ciabatta.

The culmination of this wholesome Negroni celebration is a cocktail party on Friday 24 September at The Terrace on Level 6 of the InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah that features a guest master mixologist M Fadli. The Indonesian mixology expert extraordinaire is a veteran  cocktail artist who has honed his drinks-making skills in eight different countries over 20 years. His mastery of the arts of making cocktails has won him prestigious awards from world-class competitions in Dubai, Sydney, Bordeaux, Manama, and China, while his cocktail creations have been immortalised in 2 cocktail books, “The Negroni” and “101 Best New Cocktails 2014”, authored by the celebrated Gary Regan.

These past few months, while the world is healing itself, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah’s Chef Attila Körmöczi and his wonderful kitchen team have been busy creating new mouth-watering surprises for the hotel’s sophisticated foodie customers to be added to their famed lunch and dinner buffets at Sugar & Spice Restaurant.
