Open at Last: Kilo Kitchen Jakarta’s ‘New Normal’ Dining

Dine | 16 July 2020

Since it’s opening in December 2018, Kilo Kitchen has built a following of discerning Jakarta diners, there to enjoy the exquisitely curated combination of impeccable food, cocktails and urban ambience. This Gunawarman hotspot has announced it’s reopening since the first phase of PSBB regulations has passed, reinviting all to indulge once again but with new procedures to keep patrons safe.

Having been locked down for so long, an opportunity to enjoy the simple pleasures of dining out helps to ease one back into a state of normality. And, even with ‘socially-distanced’ dining, one can feel like a part of society again.

This is why Kilo Kitchen Jakarta has been so eager to open; they know that their hearty food, soulful music and space for warm conversations will help to make things feel just a little bit better. The very name, Kilo, is derived from the half-blue, half-yellow nautical flag for ‘K’, which signals the message “I wish to communicate with you”, advocating the need for us social creatures to communicate again.

When dining out - especially since everyone’s a cook these days - it’s important to find unique cuisine. Kilo Kitchen presents an inimitable menu of fusion foods, mixing flavours from Latin America, the Mediterranean and Asia.

Favourites have always been their Squid Ink Rice (Crispy baby squid, salmon roe, aioli over jet black inked rice, 175K); Grilled Corn Furikake (with chipotle and furikake, IDR 75K), an Asian twist on classic Mexican street corn; and their latest addition to the menu, the BBQ Beef Ribs (IDR 175K), a succulent meaty dish to appease the carnivore in you.

If the mere mention of these dishes has you licking your lips, then that’s a sign you’re in need of a good meal. Add to that their daily-made fresh juices, mocktails and signature cocktails and you’re in for a meal you won’t soon forget.

To accommodate all diners, Kilo Kitchen has prepared a new normal dining experience to ensure guest’s safety. These are their new practices:

  • Continuous sanitation
  • Socially-distanced table setting
  • QR Scanning Menu Booklet
  • New healthy and safety protocols for waiting staff

With these ‘new normal’ standards, Kilo Kitchen welcomes guests from all walks of life looking to once again indulge in the joys of dining and drinking with friends and family.

Opening hours:
Mon – Fri: 12PM – 11PM
Sat – Sun: 11PM – 11PM
