At the end of July, two talented female bartenders delivered a special cocktail experience during a bar takeover at Barong Bar. Mega Amelia and Trisna Bona collaborated with Barong Bar’s head bartender Andrew Lugiman to create exquisite cocktails for privileged guests at Fairmont Jakarta.
The two talented beauties represented their brands and curated four types of innovative cocktails during the special night at Barong Bar. The collaboration delivered exquisite cocktails such as Don’t Call Me John, a concoction of Sous Vide JW Black & Banana, Campari, Giffard vanilla, angostura bitters and tonic water. Cocktail lovers also got a chance to sip an exotic flavour from Japanese-inspired Oishi Hai, a mixture of Bombay Sapphire, fat-washed Martini Dry, fresh lime juice, wasabi paste, simple syrup and nori.
Rum Clarified was served for Bacardi lover with a drink made from the Bacardi, giffard coconut, lime juice, ginger juice and milk mesoyi. Of course, there was a special treat for ladies in the form of Plu, a mix of white tequila Herradura Plata, Mancino Rosso infused with fresh plum, plum bitters and Nasturtium syrup.
Amelia currently holds the position as Beverage R&D Manager at Ismaya Group. Her bartending career has brought her from a five-star hotel and high-end nightclubs in Jakarta to various prestigious establishments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, before coming back to Jakarta to join Ismaya Group. Amelia has also been very active participating in many awarding platforms in Jakarta, the Middle East and Europe. She won the Marie Brizard Competition in Dubai and Tesieere National Cup in Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Bona is the Resident Corporate Beverage Manager at Syah Establishments – a hospitality and entertainment company who umbrellas trendy outlets such as Lucy in The Sky, Sofia - The Gunawarman, Café Lulu and Hotel Monopoli. She never stops formulating and creating all sorts of artisanal cocktails while also handling training and development of under the company’s team behind the counters.
