The trade show gave Indonesia’s top food and beverage professionals the opportunity to taste and learn more about NZ’s finest food and wines, as well as to meet directly with the industry’s key players. Taking place at The Dharmawangsa Jakarta on April 21st, the event highlighted nine renowned NZ exporters; Charlie’s Fonterra Brands, Kim Crawford, Manuka Honey, Pure South, The New Zealand Dessert Company, Villa Maria Estate, Wattie’s Wither Hills and Whittakers, which exhibited and shared the stories behind their products with the visitors.

The event was officially opened by H.E. Dr. Trevor Matheson, New Zealand’s Ambassador to Indonesia. Before the trade show, NOW! Jakarta enjoyed an intimate three-course lunch presented by Chef Jethro Vincent and Chef Felix Budisetiawan, along with wine pairing by Nick Dumergue. Sitting down with us during the lunch were Tim Anderson, Trade Commissioner of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise for Indonesia and Alexander Nayoan, GM of The Dharmawangsa Jakarta. “The Indonesian market is very important for New Zealand. The export of dairy, meat and other F&B products to this country keeps increasing from year to year,” said Tim Anderson.

The Food Connection Indonesia was held as a demonstration of New Zealand’s understanding of the complex international food market and the rapidly growing need to produce safe and quality food in a sustainable and innovative manner.
