Haguenauer2

Jean-Louis Haguenauer has performed extensively throughout Europe and the United States, appearing as a soloist on virtually every important concert series in France performing often on Radio France and French national television. Haguenauer has also participated in numerous summer festivals including La Roque d’Anthéron, Radio-France Montpellier, Jacobins de Toulouse, Orangerie de Sceaux, les Arcs, Library of Congress Summer Chamber Festival, and Kreeger Museum Chamber Festival.

Renowned as an interpreter of the French repertoire, Haguenauer has recorded the bulk of Debussy’s piano music as well as solo repertoire by Liszt, chamber music by Weber, Bloch, Berlioz, Ropartz, Stravinsky, Denisov and Liszt’s transcriptions of Schumann songs and of Beethoven’s Third Symphony. His complete recording of Debussy’s melodies, with some of the best French singers of our time, has just been released in celebration of Debussy’s 150th birthday. Haguenauer was the subject of the feature film La Spirale du Pianiste, which continues to be shown in French theaters. It seems appropriate that this highly recommended concert features an exclusively Debussy program.
