Indonesian Heritage Society Evening Lectures 2017

This bi-annually series of lectures which started back in 1973 is perfect for those wanting to gain an in-depth knowledge of Indonesian arts, heritage, culture and contemporary issues. Delivered in English by top speakers of their area of expertise, each series is composed of six weekly lectures held in March and April, as well as in October and November.

Open for general public and with no prior registration required, you only need to come on the day of the lecture that you find interesting  and pay an entrance fee of IDR 50,000 (IDR 30,000 for students with a valid student ID) on the spot. The lecture “Discover Pencak Silat: The Malay Martial Art” will be delivered by Dr. Rosalia Sciortino Sumaryono on 14 March, “The Banda Islands: 350 Years Since the Run–Manhattan Swap” by Tanya Alwi on 21 March, “The Keris: Heritage in Iron” by Marc Peeters on 28 March, and “Jokowi at Mid-Term: Will Political Developments Impact Reforms?” by Douglas Ramage on 4 April.
