Economix: Global Economic Challenges is an annual international event held by KANOPI FEB UI, a student organization run by undergraduate economics students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia. In 2019, the event will be held for the 17th time.
As part of the event, there will be an international seminar themed "Inequality in the Modern Era: An Unresolved Question" which will be held on 4 November at Auditorium Soeria Atmadja Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia.
There will be speakers from diverse institutions and backgrounds such as Prof. Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister of Research and Technology, and Prof. Emil Salim, Former Minister of Environment as keynote speakers. CEO of Asumsi.co Pangeran Siahaan will moderate the seminar.
There will also be other activities as part of the event. On 5-7 November, Faculty of Economics and Business will hold a paper and essay competition. Meanwhile, on 5-6 November, there will be ECONOMIX-MUN (Model United Nations), where participants play roleplaying as country representatives, delegates currently enrolled as undergraduate students are encouraged to discuss and debate about issues happening in the real world.
