As part of the celebration of 70 years of the diplomatic relationship between Indonesia and France, the French Institute of Indonesia (IFI) together with the French Embassy in Jakarta in partnership with Aula Simfonia cordially invite you to a concert to remember. The French wind music ensemble Le Concert Impromptu has strong roots in the country’s rich musical heritage and traditions, and so it does for the Sundanese music ensemble Simpay Panaratas from West Java.
Directed by Dedy Hernawan, a well-known, highly regarded Indonesian composer who has performed a variety of ensembles such as "Jari-jari" and "Walisor" (Berlin and Donaueschingen, 2004), “Boyong” (Holland, 2006) and “Genidng” (Spain, 2010), the Simpay Paranatas ensemble group consists of Devi Anggitaningrum on gamelan and tarawangsa, Bunga Dessri Nur Ghaliyah on fiddle with Sunda spades, Julaeha on drum and kecapi (a kind of zither), Dikdik Pebriansyah on trumpet and bamboo flute and Yossef Fadhilah on tarawangsa and is ready to please all music enthusiasts from fellow French, local and international audience in Jakarta.
Having widely recognised as one of the great French wind music ensemble groups, Le Concert Impromptu exists to present classical music without score in the hopes for preserving the country’s tradition as well as promoting the repertoire as French woodwind quintet, Yves Charpentier (flute), Violaine Dufes (oboe), Jean-Christophe Murer (clarinet), Antonin Bonnal (horn) dan Pierre Baffus (bassoon).
Bring along your friends, family and loved ones to commemorate this 70-year milestone of the French and Indonesian bilateral relationship and enjoy the harmonious ensemble performance on Saturday, 8 February at Aula Simfonia Jakarta.
