Currently, the hotel’s high tea selection features the “World of Fairmont” theme, highlighting  the many Fairmont Hotels visited by royalty, celebrities and dignitaries. For instance, The Savoy London has been serving afternoon tea for over 127 years and is still recognised as the best afternoon tea in London. Afternoon tea isn’t just an occasion for a group of ladies from high society but has morphed into an event where one can relax and enjoy time with family and friends.

Set in the elegant Peacock Lounge, the “World of Fairmont” Afternoon Tea is served on a standing decorative silver tree. Each branch features a mouth-watering cake and pastry created by the talented pastry team including Battenberg Cake with original recipe from The Savoy, London. Battenberg Cake, unveiled during the celebration of the wedding of Prince Louis of Battenberg to Queen Victoria’s granddaughter Princess Victoria in 1884.

Guests can also enjoy the taste of treats from other Fairmont Hotels such as the legendary Cheesecake from The Plaza New York and Lemon Merengue from Fairmont Royal York Toronto, Chocolate Hazelnut Almond from Fairmont Singapore, and Raspberry Delight from Fairmont The Palm, Dubai. There are also few delicacies from other property in the wolrd such as  Raspberry Cream Macaroon from Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I, Barcelona, Pistachio Layer Cake from Fairmont Monte Carlo, and Cheese Cake from The Plaza New York. There’s also Peanut Butter Chocolate Tabanan Cake from Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali, Lychee Mousse Tart from Fairmont Peace Hotel Shanghai and Mud Brownies from Fairmont San Francisco.

The afternoon tea also includes freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and strawberry preserves, as well as a range of finely cut sandwiches including Salmon Tartare Sandwich, Ham Panini Sandwich, Pumpernickel Foie Gras and Tomato Bocconcini.

This concept is the brainchild of the hotel’s new Pastry Chef Deden Nugraha. Chef Nugraha — who has previously worked at the Waldorf Astoria, United Arab Emirates — has led the pastry departments of a number of luxury hotels over the years.

The World of Fairmont Afternoon Tea is available daily from 1pm – 5pm at Peacock Lounge and priced at IDR 488,000++ per set including two cups of tea. To add sparkle to the afternoon tea, guests can also enjoy Spanish Cava by De Codorníu for an additional IDR 350,000++ for two glasses.
