From November 17 to 26, 2023, the Festival Sinema Prancis (FSP) returns for its 25th edition!
Since its launch in 1996, the Festival Sinema Prancis (FSP) organized by the French Embassy Indonesia and the Institut français Indonesia has spread across many cities in Indonesia, annually gathering thousands of spectators. With more than 4,000 viewers in 2022, FSP returns in a hybrid format in collaboration with streaming platform KlikFilm and distributor Cinema XXI.
More than 20 films will be screened in theatres across 14 cities in Indonesia. Meanwhile, from 20 to 26 November 2023, 10 films will be available to stream for free on the KlikFilm platform. The festival highlights the diversity and creativity of French cinema. In addition to movie screenings, there will be workshops, discussions, masterclasses and more. All events are accessible for free and the films are accompanied by subtitles in Indonesian.
This year, the festival focused on the theme of “Palme d’Or,” one of the most prestigious film awards in the world. It is awarded annually by the Cannes Film Festival jury and is a symbol of excellence, bringing worldwide fame to the awarded film.
FSP selection of films honoured at the Cannes Film Festival or other major festivals in Europe, as well as a special selection devoted to French “genre films,” will be presented during the 25th edition of FSP, which aims to celebrate the strength, ambition and diversity of the forms of directing that make French cinema shine.
