Dining is central to the experience and reputation of a hotel, and as one of Jakarta’s leading five-star luxury destinations, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah wants to ensure that what they offer their guests is only the highest of standards. That’s why the hotel has recently added Benjamin Paetz to their all-star executive team, joining as Operations Manager and bringing his special expertise in food and beverage to the table.

Hailing from Hamburg, Germany, Benjamin Paetz is a gregarious food connoisseur. Aside from heading the day-to-day operations of the luxury hotel’s F&B department, Benjamin has been tasked to elevate the InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah’s already elite lineup of dining experiences, including their luxury wedding and banquet products and services.

Paetz began his professional journey in the food and beverage industry in his hometown in Germany. His foray into the wonderful world of gourmet food and fine wines took him across the globe to a vineyard in Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand. Then after two years of learning the depths of winemaking, he began his new experiences in Asia, where in Bangkok Paetz says that his experience had taught him the most about providing the best products and services in the culinary industry.

His first affair with Indonesia began in Jakarta in 2020, and after a quick stopover in the Maldives, the keen traveller is now back in one of his favourite cities in Asia. He has an eager interest in Jakarta’s buzzing restaurant scene, with its rapid and colourful transformations. So, guests can expect some new and exciting updates from InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah’s dining experiences under the leadership of Benjamin Paetz.
