During the National Children’s Day Event this year, the National Science Olympic (OSN) medalists encouraged and motivated other students to find their potential in life. At the event organised by The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, David and two other Olympic medallists were invited as role models seen fit to motivate their generation and honour their country. This year’s theme, The Role of Families in the Protection of Indonesian Children discusses environment in the society (families) which have a crucial influence on children's growth,

David and his two friends from high school spoke in their language to inspire other kids to dream big. David shared his experience in nurturing his passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). As the leader of the group, David, who has loved mathematics since kindergarten found that enthusiasm could drive one to becoming a champion. Dreams allow kids to realise their potential and practice consistently to reach their future goals.

“The role of my parents, teachers, and coaches had a huge impact on my life and without the guidance from mentors like this, I could not have achieved the success I did,” David said at the event in South Tangerang.

David and two other Olympic medallists were invited as role models seen fit to motivate their generation and honour their country.

With the full support of his family and school, David has applied himself and demonstrated exceptional motivation in participating and winning numerous national and international competitions. “Although I fail at times, my secret to success is being positive and never giving up on reaching my target to be the best,” David added.

On this National Children's Day commemorated on 23 July, stories that have been shared by all speakers are expected to have a positive impact on children, daring them to dream big and never give up on the pursuit of their life goals.
