A Grand Celebration of Culture and Collaboration

The theme of the anniversary celebration was ‘Icon of Indonesian Pride’, represented by honoring Indonesia’s modern style and storied history through a cultured compilation of varied collaborative experiences. One example of such was Kebaya Kala Kini, a kebaya exhibition in the hotel lobby held jointly between Bakti Budaya Djarum Foundation and Didiet Maulana, Creative Director of Svarna by IKAT Indonesia. Having been available from 15 August to 11 September 2024, it presented how kebaya has transformed over the years, as well as Didiet Maulana’s work which his book ‘Kisah Kebaya’ documents.

On 27 August 2024, nighttime guests from the Signature Terrace to the Bali Room were treated to a vibrant Palang Pintu performance by iForte and their very own Gending Sriwijaya, accentuating the epic classical feel. Beautiful music and vivid narratives supporting that cultural aspect were performed by Indonesian icon Happy Salma, the Jakarta Concert Orchestra, Batavia Madrigal Singers, and Avip Priatna, the ensembles’ Founder and Music Director.

Mustikarasa-Inspired Traditional Indonesian Gastronomy

A magnificent Angkringan-themed gastronomic market experience awaited guests, with a traditional flavorful feast inspired by the ‘Mustikarasa‘ cookbook scrupulously formulated to celebrate Indonesia’s deep history of cuisine. Ending the night was a four-course meal wherein every plate was made to demonstrate the vintage East Java zests of Soekarno’s homeland in a contemporary light. As such, Indonesian gastronomy was honored in all of its diverse glory, while showcasing the dedication of Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta to highlight and maintain the country’s customary legacy.
