The Jakarta Komodos Junior Rugby 2016-17 Season starts 9am September 3, 2016 at Jagorawi Sports Club, located south of Jakarta via the Bogor Toll Road (take the Gunung Putri exit and enter the right lane to go onto the bridge across the toll road). The ground is the near the entrance to the Jagorawi Golf and Country Club. There will be regular Saturday morning training sessions from 9-10:30am from September 2016 through to May 2017.

The Jakarta Komodos Rugby Club also includes Senior and Veteran Men’s Teams. It’s the oldest and longest running Rugby Club in Indonesia, and has a proud record plus the best development program for national and expatriate children in Indonesia.

Volunteer Coaches, some of whom have been trained by World Rugby Educators are provided for the various Junior age groups (mixed up to U12’s) and a Women’s under 18 group. There is also a medical officer present for training and on match days.

2016-17 Season Fees are:
U9 and up Rp.3,000,000 per child
U8 and below Rp.2,500,000 per child

Age groups are as follows:
U7 – born 2009 or after
U8 – born 2008
U10 – born 2006 or 2007
U12 – born 2005 or 2004
U14 – born 2003 or 2002
U16 – born 2001 – 2000
U18 – born 1999 or 1998
Women’s U18 – born on or after 1998

The Jakarta Komodos Junior Rugby Club are planning on participating in the following tournaments at home and overseas this season:

* 2016-17 Jakarta School’s Tournament – October to January
* 2016 Centaurs Tournament – Kuala Lumpur – 3rd and 4th December
* 2017 Bangkok Tournament – Thailand – 24th to 25th February
* 2017 Jakarta 10’s Tournament – 6th May
* Possible tournament in Bali in March/April 2017

Born into a rugby-loving family, Stephen has always been passionate about the game. He played for the University of Queensland before a 2-year stint playing in New Zealand. In 2004, Stephen and his friends founded Indonesian Rugby. He still remains a loyal servant of Indonesian Rugby today and was honoured as a life member of the Union in 2013. Stephen is Head of International Relations of Persatuan Rugby Union Indonesia and has been NOW! Jakarta’s rugby contributor since 2008.
