In order to help parents and students to select the best college abroad, Singapore Intercultural School (SIS) announced that it will have two academic intakes this year: the first one from January to December 2017 for Southern Hemisphere universities/colleges, the and second one from August 2017 to June 2018 for Northern Hemisphere universities/colleges.
SIS not only adapts the Singapore curriculum but also its teaching methodologies. Recent worlwide assessment result by Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) and Programme for International Student Assessment (PISSA) placed Singapore at the top of global rankings, effectively rating Singapore’s education system as the best in the world.
SIS uses an inquiry-based program. In the early years, students' focus is on the foundation of Maths, Science and English amidst a well-balanced aesthetics and sports program. Secondary school students then move into the Cambridge curriculum and high school (Junior College or JC) students do the internationally recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma. Students work to be fluent in regional languages like Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia. The SIS program is imbibed by important life and work skills through the PACE initiative: Perseverance, Analytical Thinking, Collaboration/Communication and Entrepreneurism.
