Savouring Sweet Treats During Jakarta Dessert Week

From 7 to 20 October, dessert aficionados can discover several restaurants and cafés for sweet treats created in celebration of Jakarta Dessert Week.

Created by a group of culinary and marketing practitioners, Talita Setyadi (Pastry Chef and Owner of Beau Bakery), Arimbi Nimpuno (Lifestyle Guru of Arimbi Kitchen), Kevindra Soemantri (Culinary Author and Food Managing Editor at Green Park Content), Tria Nuragustina (Food Project Director of Femina Media), Primo Rizky and Gupta Sitorus (Co-founders of Eskimomo), Jakarta Dessert Week (JDW) highlights Indonesian pastry chefs and provides a platform showcase their artistic works, strengthening Jakarta’s reputation as a comprehensive dining destination.

With a ‘Retro’ theme, the event will offer fun nostalgia as well as distinctively colourful pop-art nuances with flavours of the past crafted by prominent chefs the likes of Yuda Bustara (Celebrity Chef), Yoan Namelaka (Namelaka Patisserie), Lorenzo Solecitto (Pastry Chef of Four Seasons Jakarta), Helga (Burgreens) and Ian Chin (The Baker).

During the two-week event, dessert lovers are invited to visit 16 participating restaurants and cafés to enjoy some of the city’s tastiest and unforgettable treats, such as The Pancake Co., Pipiltin Cocoa x Eskimomo, Delico, Mother Monster, Namelaka, Nomz Kitchen & Pastry, TWG Tea Salon & Boutique, Social Affair Bakehouse, Beau Bakery, Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta’s La Patisserie, Burgreens, Honest Spoon, Pullman Jakarta’s Le Chocolate Lounge, etc.

JDW offers a number of personalised experience, such as artisan bread seminar and tasting, dessert illustration for kids and dessert and cocktail pairing in various places.

For every visit to any of the 16 sweet spots, guests are provided a stamp card which they can collect for a chance to win a special grand prize.

“The purpose of the event is to unite pastry chefs and give them a platform to create and showcase their work outside of their routine. And we also want to develop a conversation about dessert in line with increasing public interest,” Tria Nuragustina commented about JDW.
