It is no exaggeration to say that Jakarta has the liveliest dining scene in the country. From the South to the North, you will not run out of choices as the city always has something to satisfy every palate. As dining out has become an important lifestyle for modern Jakartans, many restaurants are vying to create new innovations in order to keep their customers coming back, and The Dutch Jakarta is no exception. Although considerably new, this brainchild of the Union Group has proved its commitment to provide only the best creations for Jakarta’s foodies by introducing exciting new dishes this August.
Carrying the Gastropub concept, The Dutch lies in the heart of Jakarta’s SCBD, making this restaurant an ideal venue to meet some friends after work. Upon entrance to its doors, you will sense the cozy atmosphere that radiates from its chic vintage and industrial design, complemented with dim lighting and soft music which creates an intimate feeling. Focal point of The Dutch is its long bar which proudly displays a wide range of alcoholic beverages selections, including the copper brauhaus bridge which dispenses seven different beers and a house handcrafted cocktail called Americano.
On to the menu, food aficionados in the city now can indulge in several new and appetizing products, specially prepared by the native Dutch Chef Chris Moes and his team. To start, try their earthy Chicken Liver Pate which blends nicely with blueberry compote and toasted focaccia. For all the carnivores out there, get wild with The Dutch Sausage Platter that consists of rookworst, chorizo, lamb merguez, and chicken sausage served with cornichons, mustard and chili sauce. Since they are homemade, The Dutch sausages are very well-liked for their smoky aroma, fine texture and rich seasoning. Also do not miss their new Beef Succade, the Dutch-style braised beef served with potatoes, carrots and onions, grilled brussels sprouts and flavourful gravy.
Dessert lovers can also rejoice as The Dutch offers new flavour of their poffertjes -nutella and banana- the perfect union which seems to never go wrong. Of course your time at The Dutch wouldn’t be complete without enjoying their wide selection of beers. We recommend you to try every single one of them in small servings through One Metre Beer that consists of seven glasses of beer available on tap. The Dutch Gastrobar opens everyday from 11am till late, for more promotions follow them on Instagram and Facebook @thedutchjakarta.
