InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar held its regular social activities as part of its commitment in making a positive contribution and encouraging change for the better future as well as helping to improve human life.
It’s a very good moment for kids from Yayasan Kasih Anak Kanker Indonesia (YKAKI), a foundation which care with Indonesian children with cancer, as they were invited by InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar to come to the hotel and to enjoy and play with fun activities. They came to colour Giving for Good, the hotel’s CSR activity which this year held on 23 September.
YKAKI is a shelter community for unfortunate children with cancer where children who are members of the YKAKI community come from the Bandung area and various regions in West Java, YKAKI also provides a temporary residence for families of cancer patients who are undergoing the treatment process at Hasan Sadikin Hospital or Cicendo Eye Hospital.
Once the kids arrived, they greeted with warm smiles of the hotel staff, welcome drink, and sweet ice cream. Still with cheerful and joy on their faces, those kids headed to the Putting Green area to play various recreational activities, such as bounce castle that accompanied with cute rabbits. The hotel also invited them to take part in a cooking class filled with interactive activities: decorating cupcakes and making sandwiches. Smiles adorn their faces amidst their struggle to undergo treatments for intensive care to survive.
The activity was then continued with remarks from the General Manager of InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar, Pascal Caubo. "Unlike the previous years where InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar always visited places that we felt were worthy of being places for Giving for Good activities such as orphanages. This year we specially invited YKAKI to come to our hotel in order to carry out Giving for Good activities from this year's series of CSR events. I hope this activity can be a useful activity for all of us, keep the spirit of the children, and have fun at our hotel.”
Chairman of YKAKI, M.D. Aquarina M. also expressed her gratitude to the hotel for inviting YKAKI in the event. “Our deepest gratitude goes to InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar who has received and hosted us well here. Hopefully, YKAKI's good relationship with InterContinental Bandung Dago Pakar can continue to run well in the future,"
On the occasion, the hotel also gave a donation to the foundation as a form of the hotel’s concern to help and encourage the children in facing uneasy situations and conditions. The activity ended with a special lunch prepared by the hotel’s chef team.
