The organisation aims to generate resources through fund-raising initiatives and community partnerships, and use those funds to make an impact in the lives of disadvantaged people in the larger society, social welfare and scholarships.

WIC’s social welfare programmes have involved around 13 social institutions including three home centres for the elderly, seven orphanages, one school for the visually impaired, one school for children with special needs, and funds for physiotherapists, speech therapists, nurses and teachers for autistic patients. Foster aunts and volunteers usually make regular visits to the institutions to keep in touch and maintain good relations with caretakers as well as to respond to their needs.

Japan showcased their craft and food products.
British Women Association also participated at the event held at Jakarta Convention Center.

In addition, WIC has committed to working on other humanitarian projects assessed by a Bazaar Proceeds Committee (BPC) consisting of WIC members, honorary members and the spouses of ambassadors. With the proceeds from WIC Bazaar 2017, the BPC 2017-2018 completed eight projects in Greater Jakarta. This involved providing medical equipment and mattresses for hospitals, heart surgeries, repairs to buildings, school desks and chairs set as well as stationery. The President of WIC Elmyra Bambang stated that this year’s event is expected to raise a larger amount of money for bigger projects and needs.
