Sari Delicatessen and Cafe made its return with a grand reopening event, “Kembali ke Sari Delicatessen and Cafe”, on 29 August 2024. This special occasion is designed to evoke the nostalgia of the cafe’s illustrious past as a cherished culinary landmark in Jakarta while celebrating its new exciting chapter.
Established in 1976 as part of the iconic Sari Pacific Jakarta, Autograph Collection, the deli has long been a favourite destination for its delightful range of breads, deli items, and classic cakes, including the legendary Black Forest cake that has captivated generations of customers.
Previously known as a modest deli nestled in the hotel lobby and primarily focused on takeaways, Sari Delicatessen and Cafe with its grand reopening has now taken up residence in a prime location adjacent to the hotel’s entrance. This move enhances accessibility and invites guests into an elegant glasshouse setting, perfect for a relaxed dine-in experience.
The new environment now boasts expansive windows and airy design, offering diners a seamless connection to the lively bustling city on the outside while still able to enjoy their meal in a serene atmosphere. The cafe’s revamped interior features natural design elements with contemporary touch, elegant yet still exuding a warm and inviting ambiance that complements its updated menu.
Their culinary offerings now skilfully marry traditional favourites with innovative dishes that draw inspiration from both Indonesian and international cuisines. Highlights include the rich and aromatic Salmon Laksa, the bold Ossobuco Maranggi Sambal Roa, and the classic Philly Cheese Steak. For pasta lovers, the Clam Tagliatelle offers a fresh take on a seafood favourite, while the Bocconcini Salad provides a light, refreshing option. Culinary Director Andri Aryon elaborates that the cafe is “….serving comfort food from around the world. Many of our guests come from abroad, and we want them to feel at home with our comforting dishes.”
Sari Delicatessen and Cafe also brings a taste of Indonesia to the table with dishes like the Roast Chicken Coconut Lemongrass Sauce and the Spaghetti Oxtail Sambal Hijau. For those with a penchant for grilled delights, the Mixed Grill Board and King Prawn Thermidor promise to satisfy even the most discerning palate. The cafe also provides indulgent sweets to close off your meal with their Burnt Basque Cheesecake, Mesoyi Wood Cannoli, and Peanut Butter Soufflé.
