ASHTA District 8, one of the projects under ASRI (a subsidiary of Agung Sedayu Group) consistently supports the principle of sustainability. A series of “INTERPLAY” activities presented at the Melting Pot using recycled materials can be enjoyed by all visitors from 9 to 19 October 2024.
As a company committed to social and environmental responsibility, ASHTA District 8 believes that innovation in design and art can be the key to creating positive impact. To support the event, it worked with various partners such as REcycle EXPerience, an artwork by Evan Driyananda and Attina Nuraini, Indonesia Design Week 2024 and Navakara as an organization that initiates the reduction of plastic waste.
The work depicts “Robotic Imagination Characters,” combining found objects with non-organic waste and transforming them into amazing new forms. Through this work, ASHTA District 8 hopes to inspire people to see the potential in every “useless” object, while emphasizing the importance of reducing waste in everyday life.
ASHTA District 8 is committed to spreading knowledge about sustainability through the Waste Less Films Series 2024 shows that will be screened at FLIX Cinema. Together with various partner organizations with sustainability missions, films and documentaries about environmental challenges in society will be shown. It is hoped that the showing of this film series can raise awareness about the environmental challenges faced by society and the importance of eco-friendly living practices.
As a form of ASRI’s support for local artists, ASRI also presents its collaboration through a photo exhibition by Indra Leonardi, a professional photographer at SPAC8, ASHTA District 8. The exhibition celebrates Indra’s career through a year-long project, featuring abstract and blurred images that capture moments from his daily life and travels.
ASRI’s General Manager Marketing Communication, Zico R. Hansakarya said, “INTERPLAY is more than just a series of events, but a joint effort to build awareness of the importance of sustainability in every aspect of our lives. We want to invite the public to be directly involved, either through art, discussion, or sustainable practices. Moreover, we believe that collaboration with local artists and other partners will generate innovative ideas that can inspire real action.” He concluded that they hope to create a more eco-conscious community ready to contribute to a brighter future.
Not only that, ASHTA District 8 organized the Scentplay Market, which featured fragrance and self-care products. The market featured a variety of fragrance oil products from top brands such as Alchemist, De Antoine, Jo Malone, and Maison Margiela, giving visitors the opportunity to discover the beauty in every scent and self-care.
ASHTA District 8 also invites the public to participate in the Jakarta Interior Design Festival, which will take place from October 10 – 20 at the Indonesia Design District. For those of you who wish to attend this exhibition, ASHTA District 8 will present a free shuttle service as a means of transportation to this renowned interior design exhibition. Through this event, ASHTA aims to enrich visitors’ knowledge and skills on eco-friendly design.
To strengthen collaboration with local artists, ASHTA District 8 additionally presents the PURPOSE Photo Competition, which invites a wide audience to share their experience at the ASHTA District 8 installation with Isha Hening. With a total prize pool of IDR10,000,000, the competition aims to garner creativity and unique perspectives from each participant, while spreading the message of sustainability that is the focus of the event.
With this comprehensive series of innovative activities, ASRI hopes to create a more eco-conscious community and encourage positive change in society. As a company that emphasizes balance and harmony, ASRI invites all to join the journey towards better sustainability. For more information, check their website and Instagram.
