The Valrhona Afternoon Tea is a first in Jakarta and brings chocolate enthusiasts together for a medley of sweet delicacies crafted by the hotel’s talented chefs. Hosted in The Langham, Jakarta’s signature tea lounge, ALICE, the special afternoon tea is only available from June 1 until August 31 2024.
Hailing from the idyllic Hermitage, France, Valrhona is introducing itself with its high-grade luxury chocolate creations. ALICE, known as the ultimate destination for indulgent afternoon tea experiences, is the perfect partner for the distinguished chocolate producer as its commitment to the culture and heritage of the British pastime has made it a haven for afternoon tea devotees. Led by The Langham, Jakarta’s Executive Pastry Chef Norbert Bataillard, the menu has meticulously curated to showcase chocolate-filled artisan creations such as sweet desserts and savory selections, as well as delicate petit-fours to house-made scones.
Guests can indulge in this ‘chocolate cornucopia’ with specialties like the Orange Choux with Caraibe dark chocolate whipped ganache – a pastry complimented by velvety texture that creates a sumptuous bite. The Raspberry Inspiration with pain de gene and whipped Opalys is guaranteed to also tantalize the palate with its passionate, fruity combination, while the Itakuja 55% Sable refreshes the palate with a hint of acidity of mandarin passion fruit compote. For this exquisite experience, sets are priced at IDR 328.000 per person.
Also launching is ALICE’s signature Croissant experience. Freshly baked croissants are presented tableside and generously drizzled with luxurious chocolate and delightful toppings of your choice. Guests can choose a selection of five chocolate sauces, such as Oplays Coconut White Chocolate, Caramel Passion Fruit Milk Chocolate, Irish Coffee Chocolate, Alice Signature Raspberry Chocolate, and Dulcey Kalamansi. Guests can also select a choice of condiments including a variety of nuts, fruits, chocolates or marshmallows to accompany the treat. Delve into this baked affair for only IDR 108,000++ per portion.
To enhance guests’ experience, ALICE offers curated drinks including exclusive chocolate beverages, such as The Langham Jakarta Hot Chocolate, made with Valrhona Guanaja 70% – a drink that can warm any heart or mind with the addition of its succulent marshmallows.
