Following the success of the global launch, the highly anticipated The Macallan Edition No.4 has arrived and now available in Indonesia. Select guests comprising industry leaders, media and others connected with The Macallan embarked on a sensational journey to discover Edition No. 4 at The Glassroom, Ritz Carlton Pacific Place in late March, which was transformed to mirror the lush Speyside landscape, while taking inspiration from the brand’s foundation.
This fourth release in the innovative Edition Series embodies the craftsmanship and pioneering design of the new Macallan Distillery and demonstrates the mastery of whisky making on the estate.
Crafted from a combination of European and American oak casks, Edition No.4 presents a zesty, vibrant and invigorating single malt of bold and rounded honey with sweet apple note, sweet toffee, citrus fruit, ginger and nutmeg. It gives a subtle green wood and floral undertones sensation, leaving a sweet vanilla viscous mouth coating in the palate. With an ABV of 48.4 per cent and a natural burnished copper colour, Edition No. 4 is a distinct whisky that pushes the boundaries of innovation and reflects the passion, traditions and craftsmanship that goes into the art of the perfect cask selection.
The Macallan also invited the guests to immerse in the distillery experience through virtual reality and 360-degree video experience.
The experience included cutting-edge wind and scent diffusion technology matched to the footage, provide a sensory addition to the visuals. Fully interactive leap motion controls allowed guests to direct the experience with a mid-air gesture of their hands, and chose which area of the distillery they would like to learn more about.
