The St Patrick’s Society Jakarta held their first Guinness Annual Charity Dinner on 15 March 2019 which saw 200 people attending from various multinational companies, embassies, Irish and other expatriates as well many residents of Jakarta. The evening featured Irish music and plenty of dancing.
Miranda Hough, Chairwoman of the society said that in the past the Irish Ball has always been a huge success, bringing a flavour of Ireland to Indonesia, while supporting local charities including Yayasan Rumah Harapan Indonesia, Yayasan Rumah Rachel, Rawinala Foundation, Yayasan Goodwill International, Yayasan Bina Sejahtera, XS Project and Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation.
Social events are held regularly including pub nights at Molly Malones Irish Pub & Murphy’s Irish Pub, quiz nights, golf days and other activities.
“Our roots and many of our members are Irish, but we are an International group and people from all over the world are given a warm Irish welcome at all our meetings and events!” Hough added.
