In recognition of Bandung’s emerging creative personalities, the boutique hotel has dedicated an art space to hold exhibitions, and aesthetic 24-hour restaurant KUNST Bistro.Terrace Cafecan also be used for art workshops from TahiLalats, Semata Gallery, to Bandung Sketchwalk.
The lobby in this heritage building, Sarinah is welcoming. Once a department store, the first in Bandung in1962, it was established in the Dutch colonial era and was a fashion store. The hotel has preserved the building as a heritage site that has now been transformed into a cafe named B10 inspired by the hotel location at Jl. Braga No.10.
During the three-day celebration of Fair de Braga, a number of indie artists performed at the café including Nonaria, Nissan Fortz, Cockney Kids, Kimoji and other local musicians. Here, people can enjoy Braga’s signature coffee and other drinks along with a selection of snacks while enjoying city old atmosphere. A truly perfect place to hang out and make a networking between other creative players.
Later, Fair de Braga will be planned annually along with regular art events. Anton Susanto, the General Manager of de Braga by ARTOTEL said that the events are part of the Hotel’s initiatives to demonstrate the hotel’s commitment to support local creative industry in Bandung. “It’s in line with our mission to give a contribution to the art industry. I hope de Braga will get a good response and be a meeting point for people for travellers and creative individuals in the city,” Susanto said.
As part of the hotel’s Curated Collection from the ARTOTEL Project Series, de Braga is operated by ARTOTEL owned by PT Wijaya Karya Gedung. With its location in the heart of old Bandung, de Braga offers a fresh and young, lively ambience and invites guests to enjoy a nostalgic side of the city.
