As the city’s first preschool of its kind, Trehaus School Jakarta recently held a panel discussion entitled “Nurturing Young Minds: What Matters Most”. Built on the research-backed Trehaus Method, the school offers a project and play-based curriculum for early learning.

The discussion compiled experts in the fields of child development and pedagogy to explore the key function that nursery education contributes to influencing cognitive, emotional, and social development. Therefore, it stressed the significance of such formative years for a child’s learning ability and character development throughout their whole life.

Moderating the panel was Research Psychologist, Counsellor and Coach Marissa Nasution, with eminent speakers being featured such as Dr. Elaine Kim, CEO & Co-Founder of Trehaus; Felicia Hanitio, Deputy Director of Education Initiatives at Djarum Foundation; and Elizabeth Wu, COO, Co-Founder & Director of Schools at Trehaus. What they mainly examined was how innovative educational models like the Trehaus Method are meeting the rising demands of today’s parents for comprehensive childhood education.

Elizabeth Wu, COO, Co-Founder & Director of Schools at Trehaus, elaborated on how the Trehaus Method promotes a child’s natural curiosity and cultivates independence, social skills, and emotional intelligence. “Fostering a multilingual environment, we at Trehaus School Jakarta promote cognitive development and cultural awareness through English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Indonesia languages. Committed to shaping the next generation of changemakers, we focus on academic and emotional growth to ensure children are future-ready,” she said.

Dr. Elaine Kim, CEO & Co-Founder of Trehaus explained that they focus on children’s self-discovery journeys equally as with their results. “What we offer is a holistic education that incorporates the best elements of research-based and evidence-informed pedagogies to create a child-led, play-based and project-based curriculum. Little ones will be imbued with values, knowledge and skills to be the Changemakers they were meant to be.”

This event highlighted the ever-increasing search by modern families in Indonesia – upon realizing the benefits of well-rounded, future-ready learning – for fresh, advanced educational frameworks. With its revolutionary project-and-play-based approach, Trehaus School Jakarta expressly confronts these needs for children of 18 months to 6 years old.
