Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week 2018 Comes Back this March
The Annual Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week (PIFW) 2018 comes back this month to showcase the latest Spring-Summer collection from local designers and international brands with special curated show to celebrate the beauty of the textile “Kain”.
As the commitment to support fashion industry and retail in the country, PIFW 2018 will take place at The Warehouse Level 5 Plaza Indonesia Mall for five days in a row, starting on March 19th to March 23.
Number of young talented designers will showcase the latest collection throughout the week such as Bin House, Sebastian Red, Iwan Tirta Private Collection, Danjyo Hiyoji, Michelle Kristiani, Ted Baker, Barli Asmara, and BCBG MAX AZRIA.
The fashion brand Love & Flair, Hasbro, ANGFA,, Bateeq, (X)S.M.L, Lekat, Populo Batik will also launch the latest collection on the catwalk. Collaboration show between Parang Kencana X Wilsen Willim, Alleira Batik X Rama Dauhan, and Iwan Tirta PC X Auguste Soesastro couldn’t be missed.
Ria Juwita, Senior Manager Event & Promotions, and Creative Services PT Plaza Indonesia Realty Tbk said, PIFW 2018 will feature 22 designers consist of Indonesian labels and international brands.
According to Juwita, The fashion week will be the center stage for the Asia NewGen Fashion Awards (ANGFA) contenders, where the Harper’s Bazaar Indonesia is going to decide the winner of the young fashion designer competition as it’s chosen to be the representative from Indonesia to compete in Asia level.
Beside the PIFW, Plaza Indonesia as the premium shopping point is also known from the Men’s Fashion Week, the platform for menswear designer who want to create the market in the country, for specific gender based collection, as its targeted also for retail market at the mall.
A Creative Month
As the part of Plaza Indonesia’s 28th anniversary, the other creative events is organized to support creative economy in the country that will be the celebration of visual and music through “Jakarta Street Beat” event series.
Plaza Indonesia collaborates with Dinda PS, a talented illustrator who will hold a "Fashion Collage" workshop on March 13 and March 20. The visitor could also join hand painted training by utilizing denim and leather jacket material in the Magafaka Workshop.
To bring Street Beat spirit, an Indonesian mural artist, Hard13 present at Never Too Lavish Custom Show where but the artist will showcase his mural on shoes, purses, wallet, and accessories according to the personalized illustration. For tattoo lover, Pop Up Tattoo Parlor will participate to enliven the Jakarta street beat, featuring Revolver Tattoo Studio, Sidespace Tattoo Studio, and Twin Monkey & Thinking Tree Tattoo Studio.
Art Installation by Guntur Timur will decorate the building with Birds Composition theme as the artwork is inspired by Persian classical literature, Bird's Congress, written by Faridudin Attar.
