What’s on Bali: Bamboo Blonde to Bali Spirit Festival 2020
It hasn’t been that long ago since we celebrated the beginning of a new decade but there’s always a reason to hop over the pond for an island getaway. Here is what Bali has to offer for an enticing break from the city.
BaliSpirit Festival Returns for 2020
One of Asia’s biggest yoga festivals returns for its 13th edition, bringing week’s worth of the health, wellness, music and more back to the Islands of the Gods.
From 29 March to 5 April 2020, the grounds of the Puranti Center of the Arts, will be transformed into one of the region’s most sought after yoga festivals. In fact, ‘yoga festival’ barely scratches the surface: the seven day experience hosts a multitude of activities, including 300 workshops in yoga, dance, personal development, healing and martial arts. These are led by some of the world’s best practitioners and teachers. The BaliSpirit Festival experience extends beyond the classes, where their Dharma Fair presents products for the eco- and health-conscious, day and nighttime stages everything from ecstatic dance to world music, and markets showcase amazing organic food. Taking place 15 minutes south of Ubud, surrounded by lush rice fields and jungles, the BaliSpirit Festival channels the island’s positive, spiritual energy, creating an atmosphere where people feel encouraged to learn, heal, feel free and connect with other conscious individuals. For some it is the best opportunity to better their yoga skills, for others, classes and seminars are deep and transformative experiences.
Imagine, an almost village-sized space with areas dedicated yoga, wellbeing, music, dance and community. Everyone is invited, including families and children with a dedicated Kids Zone. Passes for the whole weekend or just for a day are available, so don’t miss the opportunity to soak up the amazing positive vibes at BaliSpirit Festival 2020!

Annual Marriott International Bali Hotels Golf Tournament
On Saturday, 18 April 2020, the Annual Marriott International Bali Hotels Golf Tournament returns for its third year, bringing with it an incredibly entertaining 18-holes filled with entertainment, all in the name of charity.
The tournament, organised by the 23 hotels that make up the Marriott International Business Council Bali, will be held at the immaculate Bali National Golf Club in Nusa Dua. It is a fundraising event, raising money for the charitable organisation Bali Children Foundation (BCF), who provide an educational pathway for marginalised children in Bali, helping to break the long cycle of poverty or disadvantage. Last year, the golf tournament and gala evening together raised IDR 420,000,000 for BCF. As this is a golf tournament run by one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, you can be sure that this will be a round of golf like you’ve never experienced before: every single hole is sponsored by a hotel, where drinks, live music, food and entertainment will take place. After the golf, a Gala Dinner will take place at the Laguna, Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, where door prizes, live and silent auctions and novelty prizes worth IDR 1 Billion will be available all to raise money for a good cause. Golf Tournament registration is priced at IDR 2,300,000 nett per person, including on-course food and beverage (Bali National, Par 5 and Raffles members will have preferable pricing), whilst the Gala Dinner (7pm reception) is priced at IDR 600,000 nett per person including a magnificent international buffet dinner inclusive of wine, beer, soft drinks and live entertainment.

BAMBOO BLONDE
This street-style magnet has built a fierce social presence on the island among local and international followers. With 14 stores spanning across Bali, Bamboo Blonde has been redefining the ‘island babe’ look in line with contemporary fashion since 2007.
The clothes are breezy and colourful, whilst presenting a bold take on ‘resort chic’. Flowing outerwear and dress shirts to wear over your bikini; sultry playsuits and two-piece sets for a sunny stroll through Seminyak; and for the sophisticated sundown soirees, the maxi dresses and jumpsuits are head-turners yet elegant.
The seasons are fleeting at Bamboo Blonde. The new arrivals quickly turn into best sellers, that demands of re-stocking is not unusual, if not, has justified a designated ‘Back in Stock’ section on the website. You have a chance to shop Bamboo Blonde’s latest campaign exuding European chic aesthetics with tropical touches authentic to Bali’s resort and beach club lifestyle.
THE ULTIMATE BLOW DRY
If you’re after a some pampering on the island of the gods, then head to one of Seminyak’s most lauded salons, where your manicure comes with a martini and your blow dry comes with bubbles. Blow Bar Bali is a beauty salon that doubles as a social hangout and every patron is encouraged to ‘drink and dry’ – the first of its kind on the island.
Blow Bar also offers hair treatments imported straight from Italy to care for sensitive scalp, thinning hair, dry or greasy dandruff, and to bring life to damaged locks – you’ll then get pampered to a relaxing back and head massage. To top it all off, there is champagne by the bottle and signature cocktails on offer. You’ll love their ‘Beach Babe’ signature blow-style, a messy soft-wave look; or the quick ‘Refresh’, a 25-minute style ‘touch up’ if you’re not looking for drastic changes. Blokes can enjoy a Bro Dry or trim with a beer or Scotch & Shave from the comfort of two barber chairs while watching a sports game, movie or enjoy a cigar in the outdoor courtyard with a cold beer.
Currently Blow Bar Bali is offering a drink special with freshly shaken up Mojitos, Caipiroskas and Mimosas for only IDR 100.000++.
